I will forever remember Fairy Tail as the anime that constantly makes me stop and think on the spelling of “fairy tale” depending on whether I’m talking about the anime or the story type.
But joke – and also true story – aside, Fairy Tail is easily Hiro Mashima’s magnum opus version of the same type of story he’s been telling in all his series. It combines the fun energy and action that are required for a successful shounen series with a fairly unique world.
Where To Start The Fairy Tail Manga After The Anime?
The Fairy Tail anime is a complete adaptation of the base Fairy Tail manga. However, Fairy Tail has a sequel manga series called Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, which is a continuation in that it is really just more adventures with the main characters after the conclusion of the series.
What to Expect From The Fairy Tail Manga?
Like most shounen anime adaptations, the Fairy Tail anime and manga present very similar stories. Due to time constraints in the anime, there are a few changes from the manga, but they are always rather minimal. As such, you don’t need to read the Fairy Tail manga from the beginning unless you want to.
Is The Fairy Tail Manga Over?
The base Fairy Tail manga is complete. It ended in 2017 with Chapter 545.
The Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest sequel manga is still ongoing. Since launching in 2018, it usually releases three volumes per year.
