While it has a very alluring initial premise, Doctor Elise draws you in and delivers very little beyond what you get in the beginning.
While the manhwa definitely has some flaws, it is, if nothing else, nice to see a medical story that is not Black Jack even if Black Jack does it best.
Where To Start The Doctor Elise Manhwa After The Anime?
If you finished the Doctor Elise anime and wish to continue the story with the manhwa, you can do so at Chapter 40, technically, which is after the Physician’s exam.
As Doctor Elise deviated from the source material in a distinct “the animators really don’t think they are getting a second season” sort of way, it would be more prudent to start at Chapter 31 where it really starts to change things by cutting out a major character.
What to Expect From The Doctor Elise Manhwa?
As I mentioned above, Doctor Elise starts pretty faithful, but begins to change events and re-arrange events around the time of the Emperor’s Birthday Ball, even going so far as to cut a character that will be plot important.
I highly recommend reading the manhwa from the beginning, if not at least starting from Chapter 31 as stated above.
Is The Doctor Elise Manhwa Over?
The Doctor Elise manhwa is complete. It ended in 2021 with Chapter 186. The story proper ends at Chapter 143, but it has an 43-chapter-long epilogue.
Will There Be A Doctor Elise Season 2?
When you cut a major character, that is one surefire sign of, if not mismanaged storytelling, then a lack of faith that you will get another season. As such, I don’t think a Doctor Elise Season 2 anime is likely, especially since the manhwa is also complete as well.
