What to Expect From The Dinner Table Detective Source Material Compared to The Anime?

As I said above, the Dinner Table Detective jumped around the novel with what cases it adapted, but it did adapt the story of those cases pretty well. However, the novel does go more into the investigation side of the mysteries, thankfully.

What is sort of left out is the progressing relationship between Reiko and Kageyama, but strictly speaking, the anime portrays their relationship like it was in the first novel even when adapting later novel stories, so starting at Novel 2, like I recommended since the cases were skipped, does mean you will end up seeing that relationship progression anyway.

You don’t need to read the Dinner Table Detective novel from the beginning unless you want to.

Will There Be A Dinner Table Detective Season 2?

There has been no official announcement of a Dinner Table Detective Season 2 anime.
