If you were to look up ‘horny little goblin’ in the dictionary, I feel like there is a decent chance you would see a picture of Sunabouzu. It was pretty unique to have the only glaring flaw of a post-apocalyptic badass be beautiful women, even if that particular flaw does lead to an array of predictable story moments.

Where To Start The Desert Punk Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Desert Punk anime and wish to continue the story in the manga, you can start at Volume 8, Chapter 43.
You may recognize some story moments up to Chapter 77, but it is definitely not recommended to start reading there.
What to Expect From The Desert Punk Manga?
The Desert Punk anime is a bit unique in that it starts to diverge from the manga at Episode 19, injecting a lot of anime-original content, but still using moments from some later chapters as well. However, by Episode 24, it swings back to manga-canon to adapt parts of Chapter 76 and 77 in – for the most part – how the manga tells the story of what happens in those chapters.
Unfortunately, that bit of spottiness at the end is not the only problem that the Desert Punk anime has as an adaptation of the manga. It skips plenty of chapters, partially adapts many chapters, and occasionally re-arranges events leading to some large jumps in what chapters certain episodes of the anime are adapting.
For the easiest and most cohesive story experience for Desert Punk, it is strongly recommended to read the manga from the beginning.
Is The Desert Punk Manga Over?
The Desert Punk manga is complete. It ended in 2020 (after several multi-year long hiatus breaks due to the author’s poor health) with Volume 22, Chapter 139.
Will There Be A Desert Punk Season 2?
With the anime ending in 2004 and it always being a rather niche ecchi action classic, a Desert Punk reboot is more likely at this point than a Desert Punk Season 2 – though neither are especially likely.
