The anime is pretty diligent with its adaptation, so you don’t need to read the manga from the beginning.
The anime does leave out a few small details, some of which serve as some foreshadowing to later events. While neat, they do not really merit re-reading the whole series for, but provide a fun bonus for those who do.

The Dead Mount Death Play manga is still ongoing. Since it launched in 2018, the manga has been releasing at a steady two-volume per year pace.
Will There Be A Dead Mount Death Play Season 2?
Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement of a Dead Mount Death Play Season 2.
As the anime received a lengthy 2-cour season, it was able to cover a lot of story content. It adapted almost 10 volumes of a manga series that (as of Season 1 Part 2 ending) only has 12 volumes. They could probably do another single cour season, but won’t have enough story for another two-cour anime again.
As it is so close to catching up, if another season is announced, it likely will not be for awhile.
