It’s pretty clear at times that Clean Freak wasn’t working with an especially high budget, so I think that is why the anime is missing so many small moments from the manga that give the story more heart. It covers the main jokes and action, but the anime did cut out a lot of very small moments from a lot of chapters.
You don’t need to read the Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun manga from the beginning after the anime because of those cut moments, but it does give doing so a bit more merit.
