Faulted for its sultry, aggressive liaisons by its main couple and the fetishistic fascination that those inspired in young fans, Citrus is the bad girl of the yuri world – despite not being as bad as any old school yaoi anime with its sexual assault.
However, lurking under the saucy veneer in Citrus – and inside its continued manga story – you find some interesting origins for the aggressiveness presented within that make this romance as sympathetic as it is dramatic.

Where To Start The Citrus Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Citrus anime and wish to continue the story with the manga, you can start at Chapter 17.
What to Expect From The Citrus Manga?
The Citrus anime covered the story of the Citrus manga well, but it does skip a few things and, well, the anime is quite a bit more erotic than the manga. While the manga has those moments too, the anime – the way it frames those scenes – kind of changes the message of those events.
Essentially, they weren’t supposed to be as titillating as fans of the anime found them to be.
However, outside of that, you are perfectly fine to pick up the manga and continue reading on. You don’t need to read the Citrus manga from the beginning unless you want to.
Is The Citrus Manga Over?
The Citrus manga is complete. It ended in 2018 with Chapter 50.
However, the Citrus story does continue in the Citrus+ manga that started in 2018 and is currently ongoing. It only releases about a volume per year, though.
Will There Be A Citrus Season 2?
The Citrus anime came out in 2018, which was riiight around the time the manga was ending. This means Citrus was a promotional anime, and as we have not heard another word since, was not popular/profitable enough to merit another season.
