Another generic isekai anime? Yup, but some people like that. They will keep making these series until people stop buying them. What I enjoyed about this one in particular is that Ryoma, the adult man, was pretty much a major Chad, and Ryoma, the little boy, wasn’t a complete degenerate. By the Grace of the Gods also, while slow moving, is perhaps one of the most chill isekai anime.

Going from the By The Grace of the Gods anime to the light novel or manga can be an interesting experience since the light novel, and especially the manga, are a bit more serious and not quite as “fluffy.”
Alongside that, the anime often carved bits of the story out and put more focus on less important events. While not a terrible adaptation, you do miss quite a bit. It may definitely be worth reading the light novels from the beginning.
