I do really enjoy a good shoujo romance. Even if it isn’t particularly original or deep, sometimes you just want to see beautiful characters swoon, you know? One special part of Bibliophile Princess I enjoyed in particular is that it highlighted how knowledge of a country’s history can greatly benefit solving modern problems, but I definitely think people watched the show for the romance and not the politics.

If you are looking to pick up Bibliophile Princess after the anime with the light novels, you will be unhappy to hear that the anime jumped around. The simple answer is start at Novel 2, Part 2 since the anime adapted the bulk of Novel 2, skipped the shorter two other parts of it, and then started adapting the first part of Novel 3. So you will get some overlap.

The Bibliophile Princess light novel is still ongoing. Since launching in 2016, it releases between one to two novels per year.

What to Expect From The Bibliophile Princess Source Material Compared to The Anime?
When an anime based on a light novel only adapts like two novels, it is usually a good sign that the series was really diligent in sticking to the source material. That is not the case with Bibliophile Princess. The Bibliophile Princess anime does leave out quite a few side characters and story from Novel 1 as well as skipping half of Novel 2 in order to move into Novel 3’s story.
You may strongly want to consider reading this series from the beginning, or otherwise, just know some character may pop up out of nowhere.
Will There Be A Bibliophile Princess Season 2?
There has been no official announcement of a Bibliophile Princess Season 2.
Shoujo romance anime very rarely gets second seasons, and Bibliophile Princess full-on skipped a lot of events to get to that sort of clean-break, satisfying ending that promotional anime usually likes to reach. As such, another season seems quite unlikely.
