Although it hid it under a healthy layer of comedy, Bamboo Blade did give everyone the glimpse of the combat sport kendo that is so underrepresented in anime and manga. It even does really well to highlight the personal development that kendo as a sport can foster, even if you do, again, have look past jokes to see it.

Where To Start The Bamboo Blade Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Bamboo Blade anime and want to continue the story in the manga, you can start at Chapter 58.
The anime adapts through Volume 6.
What to Expect From The Bamboo Blade Manga?
While the Bamboo Blade anime adapted the manga quite well, it did have its fair share of anime-only filler. In fact, it had quite a lot. The anime inserted a lot of extra moments for the girls to bond with each other outside of the sport and even went so far as to introduce Rin, who was not in the manga, as a rival for Tama.
While it might be worthwhile to read the Bamboo Blade manga from the beginning for the sake of continuity so you experience the story as it was supposed to flow, the anime didn’t skip details so much as it added them in. If that’s not an issue for you, then there is no reason to read the Bamboo Blade manga from the beginning.
Is The Bamboo Blade Manga Over?
The Bamboo Blade manga is complete. It ended in 2010 with Chapter 107.
Bamboo Blade also has two spin-off manga series, Bamboo Blade B and Bamboo Blade C, which are about different teams of girls doing kendo. Bamboo Blade B is complete with 61 chapters, Bamboo Blade C is complete with 35 chapters.
Will There Be A Bamboo Blade Season 2?
As the anime ended in 2007 and manga is long concluded, a Bamboo Blade Season 2 anime seems very unlikely.
