Criminally underrated, Altair – A Record of Battles features interesting Middle Eastern-inspired alt-history that relies more on strategy than it does on fantasy. Unfortunately, while that makes for a fun watch, it wasn’t a series that grabbed itself a large audience.

Where To Start The Altair Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Altair anime and wish to continue the story with the manga, you can start at Chapter 79.
The anime adapts two chapters of the five total chapters in Volume 15.
What to Expect From The Altair Manga?
The biggest flaw with the Altair anime is that it has some pacing issues and moves a little faster than it should at many moments. This means the anime shaves off a lot of the finer details in the series, which, as a series about politics and strategy, is not great.
You don’t technically need to read the Altair manga from the beginning, but you would definitely find some new details if you did. Furthermore, the manga art is pretty gorgeous.
Is The Altair Manga Over?
The Altair – A Record of Battles manga is complete. It ended in 2023 with Chapter 165.
You can also enjoy the also-complete, spin-off series, The Pleiades of the Island Nation (Toukoku no Subaru) which is set in the same world, but a different country.
Will There Be A Altair Season 2?
With the manga recently ending, there is technically a shot for more Altair anime, but this series has always been pretty underrated. As such, I would not get your hopes up for an Altair Season 2 anime.
