Sometimes anime to its source material is ultra easy to switch to, other times, like this time, it is not! Unfortunately, Akame ga Kill, the anime, deviated from the manga near the end for what I assume are the usual reasons. This means while both the anime and the manga have an ending, the endings are not the same.

Where To Start The Akame ga Kill Manga After The Anime?
If you watched all the way through the Akame ga Kill anime, then you are probably like “there’s no way this continues on with the manga,” and you’d be right. However, the manga has a vastly different ending than the anime. As in, a few less people die or at least die differently.
The Akame ga Kill anime starts to deviate from the manga at Episode 17. As such, you want to pick up the manga at Chapter 33 to see the true, and honestly better, ending. At this starting point, you’ll still see some of the same things since the deviations at the beginning were rather minor, but it is best to just start where things start to go off the rails.
Is The Akame ga Kill Manga Over?
The Akame ga Kill manga is complete. It ended in 2016 with Chapter 80.
You can also enjoy the also complete Akame ga kill Zero prequel manga following Akame’s time as an Empire assassin.
