Where Does The After The Rain Anime End In The Manga?

It is hard for anime to do age-gap romances in a way that is not kind of innately gross. It flubs a lot of them too, but that is what makes After the Rain so special It is the only age-gap romance I can really think of that portrayed age-gap romance in a realistic, not-gross, but mature way. It really explored the feelings that goes with loving some much older than yourself, and why that manifests.

Where To Start The After The Rain Manga After The Anime?

If you finished the After The Rain anime and wish to continue the story with the manga, you can technically start at Chapter 40.

The anime adapts seven of the eight total chapters in Volume 3.

The anime, most of Episode 11 and 12, had an anime-original ending that is actually similar to the manga, but still different.

What to Expect From The After The Rain Manga?

After the Rain did a really diligent job adapting the manga, for most of the series. However, after the events of the typhoon (Episode 8), the anime picks up the pace rapidly to get to where it wanted to be for its anime-original ending.

As such, I recommend you start reading at the typhoon, which would be Chapter 25. You will see some overlap, but the anime skipped a bunch too.

After the Rain is legitimately as great story with a unique and still high quality art style. While you don’t need to read it from the beginning, I do recommend it.

Is The After The Rain Manga Over?

The After the Rain manga is complete. It ended in 2018 with Chapter 82.

Will There Be A After The Rain Season 2?

Unfortunately, the After the Rain anime aired around the same time the manga ended, which means it was very much a promotional series. As the anime ending mimicked the manga ending a bit, there is no way they would continue adapting the story because there is nowhere else to go with it.
