What to Expect From The In The Land of Leadale Source Material Compared to The Anime?
Like most light novel isekai anime adaptations, the In The Land of Leadale anime does a kind of slap-dash job at adapting the light novel. They tend to portray Cayna as more brutal in the anime than she might actually be. Skipping a lot of the softer scenes from the light novel in the anime did no favors for her character either.
That said, while you will definitely get more world-building and details reading from the beginning, the anime does adapt the core story well. This means you don’t need to go back and read the light novel unless you want to.
