Where Does The Yaiba Anime End In The Manga?

Since it is receiving an upcoming new anime remake, I went on an adventure into Legendary Brave Swordsman Yaiba, made by the author of the more famous Detective Conan series.

Now, you might look at the dauntingly long Detective Conan and wonder how author Gosho Aoyama has time for anything else, but before he was detailing the adventures of teen-turned-boy detectives, he was telling a cheerful samurai adventure in a more accessible package with an actual ending.

Where To Start The Yaiba Manga After The Anime?

Legendary Brave Swordsman Yaiba (1993)

If you finished the original Legendary Brave Swordsman Yaiba anime and want to continue the story with the manga, you can start at Volume 16, Chapter 164.

Yaiba! (2025)

If you finished the first part of Yaiba (2025) and want to continue the story in the manga, you can start at Volume 13, Chapter 125.

What to Expect From The Yaiba Manga?

Legendary Brave Swordsman Yaiba (1993)

As an older shounen series, there is a lot of action which allowed the anime series to adapt through a lot of chapters quickly. However, the anime does cut a few of the jokes and smaller moments from the series, but keeps the core plot intact throughout as well as add in a fair bit of anime-original content.

The anime does have an anime-original ending for the final episode, however. So disregard the last bit of the last episode and the manga actually kind of cleanly starts a new adventure.

Yaiba! (2025)

Unlike the original 1993 anime, Yaiba 2025 features less anime-original content, but does adapt the chapters at a much faster pace. This means it cuts significant portions from some chapters, re-arranges events at times, and does skip several chapters over the course of the series.

However, as Yaiba is often episodic and the anime did adapt all the big plot points very diligently, you don’t need to read the manga from the beginning unless you just want to.

Is The Yaiba Manga Over?

The Legendary Brave Swordsman Yaiba manga is complete. It ended in 1993 with Volume 24, Chapter 255.

Will There Be A Yaiba Season 2?

Following the end of Yaiba (2025), it was announced that the anime would have a Season 2 called Yaiba: Kaguya Arc. However, no word as to when that will actually air has been released.
