When it comes to Kyoto Animation anime, they are beloved for their visual style and tender storytelling. As such, they often not as diligent when it comes to faithfully adapting the source material, but the trade-off is they often add in moments that elevate the material to the thing you love. That is fully at play in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.
The Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid manga, compared to the anime, is telling the same story, but you will find that a lot of the cute and emotionally impactful moments are not in the manga. Furthermore, KyoAni also re-arranged a lot of events.
That said, you will only really notice this if you read the manga from the beginning, which you don’t need to do. However, you may find that the manga is a little less enthralling than the anime, so be aware of that.
