Where Does The Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon Anime End In The Web Novel?

This is the future of isekai. When there is no more “unique hooks” to place on a human character, the hook becomes them getting isekai’d as objects. That said, I can appreciate the hell out of the above average amount of effort the author put into making Reborn As a Vending Machine work as a premise. Outside of that, it was a perfectly average, actually pretty enjoyable light-hearted isekai.

Where To Start The Reborn as a Vending Machine Light Novel After The Anime?

If you finished the Reborn as a Vending Machine anime and wish to continue the story in the light novel, you can start at:

  • If you finished Reborn as a Vending Machine Season 1 – You can start the light novel at Novel 4 (Web Novel Chapter 73)
  • If you finished Reborn as a Vending Machine Season 2 – The anime surpassed the light novel, but you can continue at Novel 5 (Web Novel Chapter 174)
  • If you finished Reborn as a Vending Machine Season 3 – The anime adapted Chapter 277 of the web novel/Novel 5 of the web novel and is now a complete adaptation of the original story. (It does not adapt the side stories)

An important note is that, when Season 1 aired, the light novel was canceled at the time at Novel 3, but resumed due to how popular the anime was. Whereas Novel 1 through Novel 3 adapted the web novel’s chapter format, the web novel itself is also broken up into unofficial novel volumes, Novel 4 and Novel 5 stopped adapting the story as individual chapters and each chapter in those novels is just a condensed version of the corresponding web novel’s novel volume number. Thus why the light novel’s chapter formatting changes and why it seems like there are too few light novels compared to the web novel. So, in short, the light novel becomes more of a summary of the rest of the web novel, and you would actually just want to go read the web novel instead if you wanted to read the complete story.

While the first season of Reborn as a Vending Machine was pretty diligent to the Reborn as a Vending Machine story, even lending more time to the distinctly slower slice of life moments, Season 2 did pick up the pace significantly and that continued through Season 3. It focused a lot more on the plot and less on the general slice of life silliness that you will see a lot of in the web novel.

    1. I went hunting for it and… I can’t actually find out if it really exists. I found where you found the info (wikipedia) but I don’t think it’s actually true?
I checked Kadokawa Shoten, the publisher, and didn’t find it. I checked Japanese Amazon just in case it changed publishers, and no luck there either.

        1. Oh, yup! There it is. Damn you, Kadokawa! Why are Sneaker series not with the rest!

Anyway, I’ll make updates, and thank you for taking the time to hunt it down!

    1. Oh, cool. I’ll update it now. (Well, and figure out how much of the web novel it adapted, which may take some time)
