Where Does The Farming Life in Another World End in The Web Novel?

I know fans of the Farming Life in Another World source material were so upset with the anime adaptation because it adapted out all the horny, but I loved it. Sure, the horny was there, lurking often off-screen menacingly and waiting to jump Hiraku in his bed at night, but I liked that it put more emphasis on the village building aspect then the horniness of his harem.

That said, if you, too, enjoyed that, then the horny of Farming Life in Another World’s web novel and manga may not be for you.

Where to Start The Farming Life in Another World Light Novel After The Anime?

If you finished the Farming Life in Another World anime and want to continue the story in the light novel, you can start at:

  • If you finished the Farming Life in Another World Season 1 anime – You can start the light novel at Novel 4
  • If you finished the Farming Life in Another World Season 1 anime – You can start the light novel at Novel 6

This is a series best read from the beginning. You will recognize events, but the anime condenses, re-arranges, and just plain old skips arcs and content. For example, at the end of the first season where Hikaru welcomes his first kid, at the corresponding point at the end of Novel 3, Hikaru already has multiple children. This makes jumping into the source material complicated.

What to Expect From The Farming Life in Another World Source Material Compared to The Anime?

Light novel or manga, if you like Farming Life in Another World, read the source material from the beginning. The anime is a mess as an adaptation.

The anime is adapting the story, but it is basically plucking arcs out of the story for the anime and then writing/changing everything in around them to make it work. So, when reading the manga or light novel, you will recognize parts of it from the anime and they unfold similarly, but they happen at different parts of the story where the growth of the village is different. So in order to understand the story and progression of the big village family, you really need the context the source material has and the anime lacks.

Furthermore, the anime neuters out many of the harem elements (especially in Season 2) as well as the ecchi elements. If that is not for you, you may not enjoy the Farming Life in Another World light novel or manga.

Will There Be A Farming Life in Another World Season 3?
