Where To Start The Zakuro Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Zakuro anime and wish to continue the story in the manga, you can start at Volume 5, Chapter 35.
This chapter corresponds with post-Episode 11 where you learn the backstory of Zakuro’s parents. The anime starts to deviate quite a bit from the manga plot after that. It deviated a little bit before that with what everyone other than Zakuro was up to, but Chapter 35 is the easiest place to jump in without missing key information.
What to Expect From The Zakuro Manga?
Outside of its anime-original ending and the divergence that happened as it got closer to it, the Zakuro anime was actually quite a good adaptation of the manga story.
While you don’t need to read the entire manga from the beginning, you would get a few smaller details that the anime skipped.
Is The Zakuro Manga Over?
The Zakuro manga is still ongoing. Since starting in 2006, it had a hiatus from 2016 to 2024 where it released exactly one chapter and went on hiatus again. 🙂
Will There Be A Zakuro Season 2?
Maybe if they ever finished the manga, Zakuro can have another shot at anime, but the future isn’t looking bright.
