Where To Start The Sword Gai Manga After The Anime?

If you finished the Sword Guy anime and want to continue the story in the manga, you can start at:

• If you finished Sword Gai Season 1 – You can start the manga at Volume 4, Chapter 17
• If you finished Sword Gai Season 2 – You can start the manga at Chapter 1 of the Sword Gai Evolve sequel manga. Season 2 was a full adaptation of the original manga series.

What to Expect From The Sword Gai Manga?

The Sword Gai animr, when compared to the manga, is kind of a hot mess. A number of sub-plots and character stories are condensed down to the point where they are pointless and almost downright boring in the anime as it attempts to wedge as much of those story bits in as it can while also getting to the fights as quickly as possible.

If you are going to continue into the sequel manga, you will really want to consider reading the first manga from the beginning. They really didn’t do the story justice outside of those big landmark battles. The fights they adapted just fine, but you will have missed a lot of character development and plot details that you will want to have to continue this story in the more narrative-dense manga.

Is The Sword Gai Manga Over?

The original Sword Gai manga is complete. It ended in 2015 with Volume 6, Chapter 33.

The Sword Gai Evolve sequel manga is also complete. It ended in 2019 with Volume 7, Chapter 39.

Will There Be A Sword Gai Season 3?

The Sword Gai anime we got was not especially well received, and as the sequel manga ended a year after the second season aired with no further continuation, there will likely be no more Sword Gai anime made.
