Where To Start The DearS Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the DearS anime and wish to continue the story in the manga, you can start at Volume 4, Chapter 20.
You will see elements from the final episode tucked among a smattering of chapters after this, but the beginning bit of Chapter 20 is where the anime starts really condensing and changing what is happening so they could end the anime series. Overall, it would best to read the manga from the beginning.

What to Expect From The DearS Manga?
The DearS anime prioritizes romantic comedy over the more serious elements of the plot.
Essentially, the anime condenses down the story and changes parts of it with its omissions, to the point that when you jump into the manga, the events transpiring at the end of the anime are far more complex and serious.
While you will still know what is going on if you started the manga where the anime ended, you will be missing the serious elements of the plot which were reduced to almost a basic summary. As such, it is really recommended to read the manga from the beginning.
