The Miracle Girls anime is an extremely loose adaptation of the manga to the point where it feels more like this anime was a companion piece for manga fans rather than an earnest adaptation. The manga actually starts before the twins get their boyfriends and goes through the process of that happening whereas the anime just throws you into it, both relationships already in progress. The anime then pretty much just plucks some events from the manga and lumps them in with its changed plot lines and huge amount of anime-original content.
The manga remains a more concise story and can get somewhat dark at times as it goes on as well. Do note that, while quite different throughout, the anime does do a loose, changed version of the manga’s final arc as its last few episodes.
