Where To Start The Fate/Strange Fake Light Novel After The Anime?
If you finished the Fate/Strange Fake anime and want to continue the story in the light novel, you can start at Novel 7.
It would be better to read the light novels from the beginning.
Do note that the Fate/Strange Fake anime starts at Novel 2 of the light novel, with the special episode, Fate/Strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn, adapting the first novel. Whispers is labeled as Episode 0, but some sites (like Crunchyroll) label it as Episode 1.
Is The Fate/Strange Fake Light Novel Over?
The Fate/Strange Fake light novel is still ongoing. Since launching in 2015, it usually releases a novel per year, but has skipped years several times.
Where To Start The Fate/Strange Fake Manga After The Anime?
While Fate/Strange Fake has a manga, the anime surpassed it. As Chapter 20, the latest chapter as of the anime ending, it is at Episode 7.
Is The Fate/Strange Fake Manga Over?
The Fate/Strange Fake manga is still ongoing. Since launching in 2016, it releases volumes intermittently, the last being Volume 5 in 2022.
What to Expect From The Fate/Strange Fake Source Material Compared to The Anime?
Adapting a five light novels, especially in a story like Fate’s where there are always like a dozen different characters in play, is not very good. The anime, while visually spectacular and captures the core essence of the Strange Fake story, is perhaps not the best adaptation of the light novels.
A lot of little details got cut from the anime. Some of them important for context later and some of them just interesting pieces of world building. While the anime gave you the basic plot and characters enough that you could probably soldier on through the light novel, the Fate/Strange Fake anime is a better companion piece for those already familiar with the light novels than it is a good introduction/exploration of the story.
You should strongly consider reading the Fate/Strange Fake story from the beginning, but its not strictly necessary.
Will There Be A Fate/Strange Fake Season 2?
While no official announcement of a Fate/Strange Fake Season 2 anime has been released, the studio did release a video after the first season ended with a “to be continued” message, which seems a good enough indicator when combined with Fate’s enduring popularity.
