I cannot tell if I enjoyed this because it is a good story or because I’ve watched so much isekai that the bar for enjoyment has become very low. Well, at least his power system was unique and interesting enough.

What to Expect From The Hell Mode Source Material Compared to The Anime?
The anime takes a slow and steady approach to adapting this story for much of Hell Mode’s first season, almost to its detriment since it had to cover almost half a light novel in the final episode. While the final episode rushed through the events in the second half of Novel 2, you still got the gist of what happened and nothing crucial to the overall story was skipped.
You don’t need to read the Hell Mode light novel or manga from the beginning unless you want to, but you may wish to read the second half of novel 2.
