Where To Start The Himegoto Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Himegoto anime and wish to continue the story in the manga, the only place you can start is Chapter 1.
The Himegoto anime is a poor adaptation of the manga, and almost not an adaptation at all. Much of the anime was anime-original content using the story setup and characters, and a few episodes actually just take the plots of an individual chapters and combine them together.
While the start point in the Himegoto manga after the anime is easy, the manga continuity can be somewhat mystifying as it changed publishers several times.
Himegoto manga includes:
- Himegoto (Waai Published) – The original Himegoto manga in its 4-koma format
- Himegoto+ – A spin-off that focuses more on Hime’s brother Kaguya.
- Himegoto (Comic Rex Published) – Revamped story that moves away from the 4-koma format and makes the series more story-driven
- Himegoto (Febri Published) – Continuation of the manga, the chapters are standalone that filled the gaps in the Comic Rex story
While Himegoto+ can be enjoyed whenever, that is also the read order as well, though the series doesn’t really have a linear plot. Physical Himegoto volumes (and the sites that ripped the chapters from them) take chapters from all three Himegoto iterations and shuffle them together, though. It includes all the chapters from Himegoto+ and all three versions (Original, Febri, and Rex) packed into 6 volumes.
