Where To Start The Saki Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Saki anime and wish to continue the story in the manga, you can start at:
- If you finished the Saki Season 1 anime – You can start at Volume 8, Chapter 64.
- If you finished the Saki: The Nationals anime – You can start at Volume 12, Chapter 107
- The Saki Biyori anime adapts a random selection from the Saki Biyori spin-off gag manga.
Saki Achigahen: Episode of Side-A
Saki Achiga-hen is a separate spin-off series from Saki above. Set in the same world, it follows a revived mahjong club in Nara. It is a separate manga series and receive a separate anime adaptation. You can enjoy Saki with or without watching/reading it. Technically, you can also enjoy Achiga-hen outside of Saki as well, but knowledge of the mother series makes this one more enjoyable at times.
If you finished the Saki Achigahen: Episode of Side-A anime and want to continue the story in the manga at Volume 7, Chapter 21.
What to Expect From The Saki Manga?
Saki is an anime that likes to expand, not cut. The anime likes to insert a lot of fluff, ecchi, and slice of life. Not that the manga is without any of those things, but its shorter chapters have them in smaller amounts.
Does this expansion change the story of Saki? Not really. Some character relationships develop some deeper layers, but if you just wanted to continue on with the Saki story, you would not be lost in the slightest.
Is The Saki Manga Over?
The Saki manga is still ongoing. Since starting in 2006, it has steadily released a volume per year.
The Saki Achigahen: Episode of Side-A spin-off is also still ongoing, but releases very sparsely.
Saki Spin-Offs
- Saki Biyori – Complete, 7 Volumes – Comedy slice of life gag manga
- Shinohayu: The Dawn of Age – Ongoing – Follows Harue and a few other pros in their younger years
- Toki – Ongoing – Follows Toki during her younger years
Will There Be A Saki Season 3?
Saki makes even mahjong more palatable to people with the addition of cute girls, but The Nationals came out in 2014, so chances for more anime are pretty slim.
