What to Expect From The Super Cub Source Material Compared to The Anime?
You know those moments in the Super Cub anime, particularly in the first episode, where it is just quiet, lonely visuals as you watch the main character going about her lonely life or enjoying nature? The novels and manga aren’t quite like that. It goes into a fair bit more exposition about the main character herself and why she lives like that.
Furthermore, there are a number of little changes in the Super Cub anime from the novels and manga that don’t really changes anything significantly, but do make the character’s actions a bit more unclear or questionable. In short, the anime likes to show you visuals to tell a story, the novels and manga are telling you a story through details.
That said, you really don’t need to read Super Cub from the beginning unless you just want to. You have all the core plot elements intact, with the exception of how terrible Koguma’s mother is, but that’s a rather minor detail.
Will There Be A Super Cub Season 2?
There has been no official announcement of a Super Cub Season 2 anime.
As the anime aired in 2021, the window is still quite open, but it also aired around the time the novels ended, which does smack of it being a more promotional effort to boost novel sales one last time.
