Where To Start The Box of Goblins Light Novel After The Anime?
Box of Goblins is but one mystery in the fairly beloved, 38-book-long Kyōgokudō novel series.
The Box of Goblins anime story covers Kyōgokudō Novel 3 through Novel 5.
You don’t need to read the novels if you watched the anime, though they are very good. You can easily continue on with the other mysteries in this lengthy novel series.
Do be aware that the only thing that really ties all these mysteries in the series together is the re-occurring cast of characters. Not every character is involved in every mystery other then Chuuzenji, who is the main character here, but you will see many of them throughout.
Is The Box of Goblins Light Novel Over?
The Kyōgokudō is complete. The last novel released in 2006 and the last short story collection was released in 2012.
Where To Start The Box of Goblins Manga After The Anime?
Kyōgokudō has also been slowly adapted to manga. The present reading order is:
- Ubume no Natsu (4 Volumes, Complete)
- Mouryou no Hako (Box of Goblins) (5 Volumes, Complete)
- Kyoukotsu no Yume (5 Volumes, Complete)
- Tesso no Ori (5 Volumes, Complete)
- Jorougumo no Kotowari (4 Volumes, Complete)
- Hyakki Tsurezurebukuro (6 Volumes, Complete) – Manga adaptation of one of the short side stories.
You can also enjoy the spin-off prequel manga to the series, The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei, which presents more teen-friendly mysteries and has its own anime.
