I can appreciate that there are mahjong series made for mahjong players to enjoy, but I don’t know how to play mahjong. Though, I wouldn’t want it to ruin its occasionally really nicely tense moments to stop and explain it to me either.

Where To Start The Touhai Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Touhai anime and want to continue the story in the manga, you can start the Touhai – Hitobashirahen sequel manga at Volume 3, Chapter 27.
The Tohai manga is a long running series that occasionally ends and starts a sequel manga. The Tohai manga read order is presently as such:
- Touhai (Fully Adapted in the anime)
- Touhai – Hitobashirahen (Partially adapted in anime)
- Haou Densetsu Lion – Doujima spin-off, optional.
- Haou Kessen Lion – Sequel to Haou Densetsu Lion, still optional.
- Touhai – Minagoroshihen
- Touhai: Cold Girl – Presently ongoing.
What to Expect From The Touhai Manga?
While the anime does adapt some of the manga out of order, it only skipped a small bit.
While it skipped a few moments, there is nothing that would stop you from jumping and reading the Touhai manga after the anime, though the ending of the anime was rushed enough that you may just want to read the second manga series from the beginning for better pacing, but its not necessary.
Is The Touhai Manga Over?
The original Touhai manga is complete. It ended in 2011 with Volume 12, Chapter 115.
The Touhai – Hitobashirahen manga is complete. It ended in 2017 with Volume 16, Chapter 144.
The Haou Densetsu Lion spin-off is complete. It ended in 2013 with Volume 4, Chapter 36.
The Haou Kessen Lion spin-off sequel is also complete. It ended in 2017 with Volume 5, Chapter 45.
The Touhai – Minagoroshihen manga is complete. It ended in 2021 with Volume 10, Chapter 90.
The Touhai: Cold Girl manga is presently ongoing. Since starting in 2022, it usually releases two to three volumes per year.
Will There Be A Touhai Season 2?
There has been no official announcement of a Touhai Season 2 anime.
Touhai is a long-running manga series, so it has to have some fan base. We’ll see if the anime was profitable enough to merit making more.
