Where To Start The Chrono Crusade Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Chrono Crusade anime and want to continue the story in the manga, you technically cannot.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that the Chrono Crusade anime is a full adaptation of the Chrono Crusade manga, however. This is just another case of Studio Gonzo freestyling their way through an ongoing manga story.
You can technically say the Chrono Crusade anime and manga start off similarly enough, but that’s also not true. The anime puts more of a focus on the character’s actions and how it affects their surrounding while the manga is more focused on character backstory and how that is affecting their lives. To distill this down further, you could say that the anime presents Rosette as a main character while Chrono is more of the main character in the manga.
Regardless, the anime changes a great number of details in the Chrono Crusade manga story that culminates in an anime-original ending that is… similar to the manga, but also very different in a number of key ways. Is the Chrono Crusade manga ending happier? Yes, but in a different, bittersweet sort of way.
If you enjoyed the Chrono Crusade story, it is highly recommended to read the Chrono Crusade manga from the beginning. If nothing else, I highly recommend reading at least Volume 8 of the manga to see the true ending to the story.
