You can only expect so much story from an ecchi anime, and the Kanokon anime team apparently used that to their advantage to carve out a large chunk of the story that this series did have.

Where To Start The Kanokon Light Novel After The Anime?
If you finished the Kanokon anime, you can start the light novel at Novel 4, technically, though it is not recommended.
This is a series best read from the beginning.
Is The Kanokon Light Novel Over?
The Kanokon light novel is complete. It ended in 2010 with Novel 15.
Do note that the light novel was discontinued due to the author putting it on hiatus, so there is not a conclusive ending.
Where To Start The Kanokon Manga After The Anime?
If you finished the Kanokon anime, you can start the manga at Volume 8, Chapter 38, technically, though it is not recommended.
The final episode is anime-only filler and this chapter extends the beach trip, but like with the light novel, it is best to read the manga from the beginning.
Is The Kanokon Manga Over?
The Kanokon manga is complete. It ended in 2010 with Volume 9, Chapter 47.
The manga adapts through Novel 12 of the light novel, but does not adapt the story particularly well.
What to Expect From The Kanokon Source Material Compared to The Anime?
The Kanokon anime is not a good adaptation of the story. In fact, it actively carves out most of the story and leaves behind ecchi fluff. To that end, you should also note that the anime also doesn’t go as far with the ecchi as the light novel or the manga does either.
So, in short, if you liked the Kanokon anime for the story, for the ecchi, or liked both of those things, you will get a much better experience reading either the manga or the light novel from the beginning.
As an additional note, the manga is adapting the light novel story, but doing so pretty loosely.
Will There Be A Kanokon Season 2?
As the anime aired in 2008 and the light novel and manga were both discontinued, it is safe to say a Kanokon Season 2 anime is never going to happen.
