What to Expect From The Hidamari Sketch Manga?
The Hidamari Sketch manga is not necessarily so different from the anime, but it is likely you will find reading the manga to be a different experience from the anime. The Hidamari Sketch manga, as a 4-koma manga, tends to move through story arcs speedily. However, the anime often expanded and extended these events. The anime also adapted these events in non-chronological order, which is why you can find chronological watch orders for the series.
As the anime is so long, they actually got to adapt a lot of manga material, though definitely not without skipping a decent chunk of chapters as well. While reading the Hidamari Sketch manga for the skipped chapters is worth it, the issue is you will probably find the chapters the anime did adapt – and the expanded on – to be a little less satisfying.
