Shoshimin was Hyouka come again with slight differences, but not everyone took to it. However, despite a slow start and perhaps too many tedious events with tedious exposition, Shoshimin rewarded those who stuck with it with… an enthralling ending to the first season and an increasingly engaging series of events to come.

Is The Shoshimin Light Novel Over?
The Shoshimin light novel is still ongoing. Since launching in 2004, it releases volumes whenever the author feels like it. Most recently, 2024.
The author, Honobu Yonesawa, has a track record of not technically concluding things and just adding to them whenever, like he did with Hyouka.
Where To Start The Shoshimin Manga After The Anime?
While Shoshimin has two manga series, they adapt the first two light novels, which is exactly what the first season of anime covers.
There is a little bit of manga-original content, but nothing really worth hunting down the rather obscure manga series for.
What to Expect From The Shoshimin Source Material Compared to The Anime?
The Shoshimin anime was pretty amazing, and the light novel is even better. While you don’t need to read the Shoshimin novels from the beginning due to anything the anime skipped over, the novels do have a rather enthralling writing style that is a joy to read.
Will There Be A Shoshimin Season 3?
There has been no official announcement of a Shoushimin Season 3 anime.
